ITGilde announces training partnership with The Linux Foundation
May 19th 2016 ITGilde Linux training- and Consultancy organisation with 75 senior Linux professionals based in Amstelveen– has today announced a partnership with The Linux Foundation – the non-profit organization enabling mass innovation through open source – to provide Linux Foundation training courses. This agreement will mean that ITGilde is now a Linux Foundation Authorized Training Partner throughout Europe.
ITGilde provides organizations with certified, highly experienced professionals who offer expertise in Linux and Unix in the form of training, consultancy and education. The agreement, signed by Sander Van Vugt, Partner of ITGilde, and Klaus Behrla, Business Development Director at The Linux Foundation, will mean that ITGilde is to be responsible for facilitating Linux Foundation training. These training sessions range from introductory to advanced, and provide both companies and individuals with a variety of training options to increase their knowledge and use of Linux.

Individuals and companies are able to receive training in topics including Open Source Development, OpenStack Cloud Computing, Embedded Linux Development and system administration. This range of engaging training courses will help increase the pool of Linux and open source talent in Europe.
Pieter Izeboud, Partner of ITGilde, commented on the benefits of this new partnership: “This collaboration between ourselves and The Linux Foundation will ensure that the potential of experienced Unix and Linux professionals is maximized, and that employees have the skills necessary to be successful in their work. Following this agreement, we will offer additional evening courses and plan to encourage regular events which will bring Linux trainers and freelancers together to exchange knowledge.”
ITGilde places an emphasis on skilled and experienced employees, with 95% of current employees aged 45 or above. Izeboud adds that this age demographic “has extensive social and technical experience.” Van Vugt is also bringing a wealth of relevant experience to this new partnership, having worked as a professional Linux trainer for the last 20 years, and is a recognized senior author of several Linux books and articles.
